Watch Canadians swim for medals at aquatics worlds

Canada posted the third-fastest qualifying time in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay and will swim for a medal on Saturday.

Javier Acevedo will look to advance to the final of the men’s 50m backstroke, while Michelle Toro and Sandrine Mainville will both look for a berth in the final of the 50m freestyle.

Kylie Masse and Hilary Caldwell finished fifth and sixth, respectively in the 200m backstroke final following Penny Oleksiak’s fifth-place finish in the 50m butterfly, where she broke her own Canadian record time (25.62).

Rachel Nicol will compete in the 50m breaststroke final on Sunday after swimming to a eighth-overall finish in the semifinals on Saturday. 

Coverage will conclude with the men’s water polo final at 2:30 p.m. ET.
